The reviewers Pro summary provided seems to feed into the Cons perspectives noted below, and will be addressed as such.
As noted in the Cons review from January 6, 2013, and addressed above, staff interested in conducting/leading advanced R&D efforts are required to bring in the R&D funds via the submission and winning of grant proposals. Resodyn is not funded by investors and does not use debt financing to conduct high-risk research and development work for new products or to grow the business.
This business building methodology was a demanding route to take, especially during the era of this review. However, the demands, risks, rewards of this approach have been clearly articulated to each person during the challenging Resodyn interview process.
Work at Resodyn is conducted using a Work Order system for a few reasons. One is to establish well defined understandings of project goals and staff expectations. Another is to establish and maintain fiscal control of project expenditures. Additionally, Resodyn conducts work for the federal government, which requires an orderly and auditable process to determine what projects are being worked on, and by whom Resodyn is required to maintain a well-documented audit trail that that meets the rigor required by government auditing processes.
