Cons
I have seen so many people over the years that gave their all to this company for advancement leave the company bitter with the feeling of being taken advantage of. Absolutely no positions available except to be an account manager? Where is the variety of opportunity? Where is the opportunity period? There are some TMs in the field who are awesome dependable leaders. It’s obvious when you work with these types of TMs how talented, knowledgeable, and passionate they are about the success of others. It’s sad that they will never get the chance to lead their own team because these best in class folks are not willing to move their families. So instead they hand out promotions to people that aren’t as great. In other words brown nosers with limited knowledge of the busines but are willing to go to Nowhereville USA. There are still passionate TMs in the field but in the last 2 years, we are losing them fast to other companies. There has been so much money and resources spent training a person only to have them jump ship to a competitor vapor company with our knowledge of our fundamental selling strategies. Do you think the competitor can take that training and turn it against us? They can and they do! The company still refuses to make pay competitive which leads to high turnover. Poach city. No exaggeration, there are over 100 vacancies for the Territory Manager position nationwide. People that have been in the field for decades stating they never seen it this bad. This is not counting people who are on medical leave for “stress” related issues. So there are way more open positions not posted... yet. Granted, there is turnover for your standard reasons. What company doesn’t? However, this company has turned its back on the people that work in the field for the last 3 years. What did they think was going to happen when you combine an unmanageable workload with fairytale expectations? The answer is high turnover and low moral.
