Pros

All: Great benefits, 401k, medical, time off, paternity leave. Company periodically gives employees gifts (cups, shirts, snacks, etc). Coworkers are great people. Many training platforms. Recession-resistant industry with solid brands. Updated offices and technology. Home office: Great pay. On-site clinic, gym and cafeteria. Promotions are merit based. Updated offices and technology. Plenty of tools to use. Many developmental opportunities. Very supportive of minorities and LGBTQ. Field: Company car/phone.

Cons

If you want to make a ton of money at the expense of your personal life and health this is the place for you. The majority of the employees hate working here, but stay for the money. After acquiring Reynolds the parent company (BAT) has slowly pushed down its Ways of Working to the US and this has resulted in chaos. These Ways of Working are inefficient, ineffective, slow, complex and stressful. They don’t work in the US, but London doesn’t trust the US to operate independently. There seems to be no going back though because the legacy management was replaced by rotational secondees who manage with a short-term focus. Everyone has crushing work loads filled with meaningless exercises and unnecessary presentations. Everyone acknowledges this, but nothing changes because nobody is willing to stand up to the powerful people in London. I know this may be hard to believe, but it’s true. The CEO says “cut the crap” so he gets it and the regular workers want to cut the crap, but somewhere in between this breaks down. This needs to be looked into. To make things worse the execs want people to return to the office instead of supporting a remote work environment. This is not a good talent acquisition or talent retention strategy, particularly when your Glassdoor rating is on a steady decline. As for Trade. They are paid less than our competitors, have too much work and the executional strategy changes with the wind. Constant POS changes, too many SKU launches, angry retailers. This group doesn’t have any respect for their leadership and now they are facing an uncertain future. Morale has never been lower. The industry itself has downsides; declining volume, taboo products and heavy regulation. A menthol and/or nicotine ban could bankrupt the company.

Pros

The Reynolds internship experience is truly unlike anything I have experienced before. The interns are guided every step of the way, but also have the opportunity to get their hands into real-world projects and assignments in the workplace. I have been treated so well by all the staff, there are countless opportunities to participate in organization events outside of office hours, the pay is great, and the gifts (yes, GIFTS) we have received as interns has been awesome. Depending on the department, some interns get a hybrid schedule where you're allowed to work from home on Thursdays and Fridays.

Cons

I can't really speak on any cons. Everything has been amazing. I would say this type of environment would require introverted people to come out of their shell as the workplace is very lively and energetic.

Pros

Company car and free gas

Cons

1. The managerial style of the district manager in Seattle is extremely petty, his reviews make no sense whatsoever, and there is a rampant culture of favoritism going on in his district. 2. The insistence on doing “work withs” for a person with high functioning Autism was absolute torture. Even though reasonable accommodations were requested by me, none were given. 3. The district manager also referred to me as in proper nouns that were derogatory and EXTREMELY offensive to someone with Autism numerous times. 4. The payout of bonuses were also extremely infrequent, even though I qualified for them. 5. Finally during the interview process, one of the biggest selling points that was made to me was a promise of a work life balance with “exemplary pay.” Neither of which came to fruition.
