Pros

The culture of Ritz-Carlton really fosters growth and respect among the employees which I feel creates momentum to transfer that respet into the community at large. Workin for Ritz-Carlton can really change your life. You have unbelievable opportunities to learn and develop skills that will be valuable to you in any job. The global aspect of the company really is exciting. To know that you could one day be working in Portugal or in Argentina or in China when you've come from a smaller hometown is incredibly exciting. When I wake up in the morning (rather early), I am actually happy to go to work!

Cons

There isn't a whole lot of opportunity for salary growth within a given period of time. If you are interested in making a lot of money, the hospitality/service business in general isn't the place for you, but you've probably got the best opportunity at Ritz-Carlton. The culture can be a little overwhelming in its bubbly, cheesy kind of nature, but when you think about it, it's really the type of culture we would all actually like to live in. Unfortunately, some of the employees either take the culture too far and seem insincere or tricked Human Resources into thinking they embraced it when they truly don't. It's rather difficult to find something negative tosay about Ritz-Carlton.

Supportive team environment focused on guest satisfaction. Exposure to a diverse clientele from around the world. Clear service standards and expectations. Valuable experience in communication, problem-solving, and multitasking. Opportunities for internal advancement within hospitality and customer service roles. Employee recognition programs that celebrate outstanding service. Pride in representing a company known for high standards and exceptional guest experiences.

Fast-paced environment that can be stressful during peak seasons. High expectations for service and attention to detail. Heavy call volume during busy periods. Schedules may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Staffing shortages can occasionally increase workload. Limited flexibility in procedures due to luxury brand standards. Advancement opportunities may vary by location, not department. Balancing multiple guest requests at once can be challenging.

Support from leadership and corporate. Encouraged to do whatever needed to problem solve, which was appreciated.

After Covid, management became slightly disorganized and not as friendly, or helpful as before.
