Pros

I started working with the company straight out of college and I have been working with them for over 2 years. In that time I have felt valued and appreciated. As a BDR your day consists of finding business that we can reach out to as well as contacting these companies to learn more about their set up and how we can save them money and help them recycle. The hardest part of the job can be working through the day when you have had a hard time on the phone. This is where our managers and peers (co-workers) have such a positive aspect. Everyone around you and on your team will do what they can to help you. Along with your sales coach you also have a mentor who has worked hard in their role and their numbers prove that. It is very clear that everyone around you is willing to help. The environment in RoadRunner is full of motivated and productive individuals. We celebrate each others wins and work to improve when need be. We also value the competitiveness in everyone with games and challenges to increase our motivation. I have learned numerous skills in my time at RoadRunner. Including being resourceful, time management, confidence, organization and most importantly how to become a better leader. My managers have treated me with respect and you can tell from the start that they want you to succeed. Along with immediate managers our VP of Inside Sales and CEO have an open door policy and are always willing to listen to ideas or again lend a helping hand. They say there are 3 motivators in a job: 1. Money 2. Recognition 3. Winning and RoadRunner can pride themselves that they utilize all aspects and give the co-workers the acknowledgment that they deserve. In all, RoadRunner Recycling is full of opportunity and the ability to grow.

Cons

Nothing notable - Stay positive and a will to learn and grow will get you far in this company

Pros

Most money I've ever made in this type of role. Manageable workload for the most part, unless you grab too many complex tickets or have things start to go sideways. Great benefits. Fun team atmosphere and culture. Have seen many people on my team get promoted into higher roles so far, so I feel like I can take my path in my own hands and push it as far as I want.

Cons

Disorganized and constantly evolving processes that live and die by "FYI's", many that you only suss out when you come across a new situation. They've tried to codify a lot of processes and have done a good job, but many are still "you need to find out in order to know". No robust task system that is oriented by roles and expectations/capabilities rather than individual's names, which is... ponderous. Need a role to do something? Go look in a directory for the person doing that at the moment (subject to change, may not be updated/old info, person could be on vacation, etc) then send it to them, rather than dropping a task in a bucket that someone assigned to that role sees. The difference sounds small but it's immense in practice. Some of the fees and charges a customer can accrue are difficult to explain because they're nakedly bill stuffing.
