Pros

1. Good to acquire theoretical knowledge 2. Flexible work timings 3. Loads of tasks if assigned to clusters such as China OEs, Japan OEs. One can get to learn many concepts. 4. Short term Onsite opporunities (1-6 months) 5. Sports complex (includes Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, TT, Gym, Zumba) 6. Daily breakfast, lunch and evening snacks.

Cons

1. SW development is a myth, usually the projects are completely carried over from other existing projects with very minimal or zero changes to the existing SW. 2. Scope for innovation is zero, at-least in Park Pilot cluster (Dept. ESU - Ultrasonics) 3. If coding is what one is interested in, this is absolutely not the place to work at. 99% of the times, configuration is what is termed as 'coding' 4. Organisation is least bothered about associate's interest . 5. Credit is not given where it is due. 6. I have seen people working of weekends due to high work pressure (no compensations) 7. A fresher and a person with an experience of 12-15 years does the similar tasks at the same pace since it is usually configuration based. 8. Development is usually documenting the same things again and again in different tools. 9.Not much scope for co-curricular activities. Almost nil. 10. Management expects the employees to take part in organisational activities (part of yearly goals) but will never give the credit at the end of the year during goals discussion. 11. During the interview, they say promotions are purely based on performance but in reality, it is usually based on the number of years of work experience. Quantity overtakes quality when it comes to promotion 12. Usually it is like a master slave concept between RBEI and Germany, RBEI and China. The tasks that the German or Chinese clients are uninterested in are deputed to RBEI (specific to ESU Dept.).

Pros

Work-life balance is great and getting an internship extended is very common.

Cons

Not on the cutting edge of tech at all and they seem to move slowly much like the rest of the auto industry.
