Pros
I liked... most of the people I worked with. There was a Starbucks in the building and good burgers and beer around the corner.
Cons
This is a job you have when you are 25 not someone with senior level experience. All offices are a bullpen with no walls, your boss sits next to you and sees your computer screen yelling at you about not making enough telephone calls and you have to put your finger in your ear when speaking on the phone from all the noise. Friends thought I was in a bar if they called me at work. Had to be there at 8:00 AM, then meet in your small group and tell what you were going to do that day. If you did not give a high enough activity forecast they yelled at you. Then you were expected to make 300 telephone calls a week and have 15 meetings a week. Then you had to come back at 4:30 PM face to face to tell what you did that day. After I was hired my manager said there would never be a day when you worked from home. The strongest competition were people sitting 10 feet behind me working for other divisions. My other jobs I had were more teamwork and working together. This is very cutthroat and fights over turf and clients. A senior manager told me when hired don't put in much detail in CRM system. I found out if you do other divisions will start calling your prospects. Never mention the company name on the phone or other people will hear and start calling that account if you get traction. There is nothing strategic about this job. It is just staffing and a daily transaction and making enough calls to get meeting and hopefully business. Oh and there is a lot of competition from big companies to someone working on their spare bedroom that probably worked at Robert Half before. Staffing is something you run from quickly or people stay with. There are better jobs as the market has improved. It was not a match for me... ya think?
