I have Worked in Accounting for Over 20 Years. I was Lied to, as to Why the Previous Staff Accountant Resigned. The Employer I was Assigned to was a Bully and Verbally Abusive. I Spoke with a Director, and asked to be Considered for Other Positions. The Director agreed, that they would put Me in the System as Available for Other Positions. I Also Applied on the Robert Half Site, for 3-4 Positions I Qualified for within my area. No one Ever Called Me about Any Positions. Even after Another Robert Half Employee, who worked alongside with me; in a different Position for the Abusive Employer Resigned on the Spot. Robert Half Never called to check on me, knowing I was “Their” Employee; still in The Toxic Environment. I Found out that Robert Half Had Continuously Placed Women, in this Same Position after Complaints were Told to them from Previous Staff Accountants; of this Abusive and Bullying Employer.

Great in finding contracts for contract workers. They got me a remote job that allowed me to work from my home in the Midwest for a job in California.

Cons

Can be hard to reach at times.

Success with other departments - just not in mine

Cons

Complete bait and switch. I accepted this position under one manager, only to find out after resigning from my previous job that I would be reporting to someone else entirely. There was no meaningful onboarding, no training materials, and no support system in place. My manager openly stated that there was no monetary value in helping me succeed and made little effort to train or develop me. Requests to shadow and learn the business were dismissed in favor of keeping me on the phones. Instead of being set up for success, I felt actively prevented from growing. HR was equally disappointing. I raised legitimate concerns and never received a response. The organization talks about development and support, but my experience suggested otherwise. Joining this company was one of the biggest professional mistakes I have made.
