Pros

Most of the employees in my store were very easy to work with and our manager was nice and helpful.

Cons

Most of the customers were very rude and treat you like you are beneath them. In my experience the Assistant Manager was very childish and talked personally about some of the employees with an another associate, which was totally unprofessional. Also higher management kept changing their minds about what changes needed to be done and they made changes that actually made working more difficult. Also you got barely got a raise and it only came once a year, so I was only making slightly higher than minimum wage and I had been there over 4 years. Our store was basically always understaffed so we had to work under extremely stressful situations with lack of help. Also only a select few worked hard so I ended up having to pick up the slack of other employees and management.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
