Pros

The store manager is supportive and has ultimate respect for all of the associates at my store. At the store level TRUE is in practice and I feel valued as a person.

Cons

From the District Manager level on up there is no respect for us as people. There are different rules for different manager depending on how much the DM likes you. If all you do is tell him what he wants to hear and you never, and I mean never, speak out then you are allowed to break policy and even make your own rules without fear of corrective action. Dishonesty is common place and it is not unusual to hear "I don't remember saing that" or even "I never said that" so get everthing in writing or make sure you have a witness. The "r" in TRUE stands for respect but at no time is this respect given to us by the District manager or those above him.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
