Pros

- Fast paced environment to quickly expand your knowledge and ability for independence.

Cons

- Management does not consider any of your personal career goals. They are great engineers, terrible people managers. - Hard work is not rewarded nor acknowledged. Favoritism is blatantly evident. - No compensation for travel between projects even though expected commute can be up to 2 hours. - No work/life balance. Management sets standards of job to consume your life, everyone is overstressed with no compensation for absurd amount of overtime. - New hires are thrown in from the beginning so you must catch on quickly without all the knowledge of where to find the documents you need. Lack of oversight in the field can be concerning. - Questions are often left unanswered if it conflicts with management’s plan that assumes employees are on board without consideration. - HR is nonexistent at projects with some employees showcasing hostile behavior to certain factions and no repercussions for doing so. - Dirty office at projects because management wants to save money and have no cleaning services on a “professional” site. Equipment is not kept up with due to cheapness from management as well. Everyone is fresh out of college which makes for a fun atmosphere, but your pay will stay stagnant from the beginning. If you have no attachments, it’s a good initial job to get your experience and get out to a company that values your growth.

Pros

Good company to work for if you're new to the automation industry. RBT is leading in data center control system integration and has great opportunities for development.

Cons

Company anticipates employees to travel to demanding sites in the data center sector, thus if you request to stay locally, there may be concerns and it could affect your ability to move up (either the technical route or management).
