Pros

People say a lot of negative things about Rural Metro but I had nothing but good experiences with them. You get good job experience, and if you want to move to Fire this is one of the best opportunity.

Cons

Low Wage for a lot of hours but thats what the industry is. But you can pick up plenty of shifts and lots of overtime and double time.

Pros

Straightforward with their expectations of you leading up and going into the academy.

Cons

There is no room for error. If you’re not in good physical condition and think you’ll improve while in the academy you’re wrong. You need to already be in good shape or they will run you ragged for it. It’s either you’re ready or you’re not and if you’re not then they will make it as miserable as possible to test you and either you quit or they fire you.
