Pros

There is always someone to work or fill in if you need a personal or vacation day since they over staff the stores.

Cons

This company is a joke. I have worked in the cellular industry for over 8 years. This company bought my previous company so I was forced to work for Russell Cellular. Since they started me at there cap out pay I can never get a raise. I have taken a pay cut every month since I have worked for this company. As soon as they purchased all of our stores they immiedietly over staffed our stores and changed our hours. They keep the stores so over staffed that you never have an opportunity to make money. Our hours are ridiculous and we are open during later than most businesses in our town. I have never worked for a company who gives not one care about the employees. We never have any accessories but yet i have numbers to meet with accessories included. I have turned away 5 customers in one day because we don't have stock. We have a solution center who is supposed to be there to help us and all they do is make you feel like you're an idiot. Every time I reach out to someone in the corporate location the people talk down to you and act like we don't know what is going on. I have brought all my cuTomer base from another location to this store and when I find another job I will make sure they never step foot in this store. I have cried for hours and days because I feel like I am working for nothing and I am not appreciated at all. I have met way over my assigned quotas every month I have worked for Russell cellular but yet I keep taking a pay cut. The turn over rate is so high I have had people training in my store for months and months. As soon as I find another job I will quit and I have never burned a bridge with a company but I will not give a notice at all. It's sad I have five so much time to a business and they don't care.

Dear Current Employee, Thank you for your feedback. Please reach out to your DSM or HR department regarding any issues with your employment. If you feel something is not being addressed, your HR team is here to help you. Inventory is based on sales by location.....the more a store sells, the more inventory is sent to that location. For specific concerns and issues, don't hesitate to let your supervisor know, or contact the Inventory department directly. Store sales targets are different at every location and are determined by the number of selling positions at that store. A store with more team members will naturally have higher targets, and a store with lower sales volume will have fewer team members and lower targets.

Pros

It's relatively easy to learn the software involved, and the company mascot is cute. The customers are like any industry, hit or miss- but I enjoyed helping them with their phone troubles and understanding the technology we all rely on now.

Cons

Literally everything else. There's no clear pay scale or raise structure, and HR is not forthcoming with this information, either. The commission structure makes little to no sense, changing mid-month in a point based system, random spiffs for anywhere from a day or two to a few months. It's so confusing that there's regular trainings and quizzes on how the structure works to make sure employees come even close to understanding it. The median monthly earnings in commission are only earned by 38% of employees, not the average or majority. The training is almost useless, and focuses on convincing you you can make good money rather than teaching you anything. They push ethics and "honest sales" in preaching, but not in practice; and punish you for "underperforming" if you don't slam account with extras, lie to customers, or commit blatant fraud. They actively discourage you from helping in any capacity if it doesn't create a sale of some kind, and push extra fees onto customers for something as simple as paying your bill in person. Regional supervision isn't required to follow the same standards as company policies, and there is very little hierarchy accountability. They expect you to answer a call at a drop of a hat even off the clock, but will actively ignore you or hang up if you need something when they're off the clock, even salaried. On top of that, upper management and the C-Suite is rife with nepotism, and even Verizon thinks they pay their employees too little. Not a great look.
