Pros

The pros are health benefits.

Cons

Unprofessional work environment full of nepotism. Hostile management. Treats mental health as a business. Manipulates insurance companies via extending patient stays for medication changes right before the patient's insurance coverage expires. Intimidates staff. Intimidates patients. Does not follow evidence based practice. Makes no effort to reduce recidivism of patients. Makes no effort to improve program dating back to 1980. Please do not fall into the trap of working here. You will be wasting state money. Workers have been intimidated regularly by managers. Workers are berated publicly by managers. The management is so poor that mandatory hands on safety trainings were neglected. These trainings are supposed to occur at least once a year to teach you how to safely restrain people. Without this training your safety and patient safety is at risk. I received this training once in over three years.

Pros

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Cons

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
