Easy to pick up classes, but classroom changes needed - Substitute Teacher Rutherford County Schools Employee Review

I enjoyed working as a substitute teacher at numerous schools (in the North section). The majority of the schools really friendly and accommodating/ helpful. If any issues or questions were to arise, a staff member would help out without any issues. A great pro was that you can pick where you would like to work. I chose only elementary and middle schools but that was due to my preferences.

No real cons. I would say I wish more teachers would include some tips when it came to attention getters or students that may need additional help, leave the room throughout the day to work with other staff members or if there may be any behaviors that could occur.

Pay is public knowledge so there is transparency in that.

There is a huge discrepancy amongst school upkeep and resources, depending upon location in the county.
