Pros

steady and stable work if you dont mind giving up your weekends constantly

Cons

barely competitive pay never in my life have i seen a company who cares so little about there employees. many routes have several hour gaps between stops because you have nothing better to do than sit at work doing nothing. If you are late to a distributer you must give the distributer double the amount of time that you were late on top of their window time. example if the distributer has an hour long window to load your truck and you arrive 30 minutes late they now have 2 hours to load your truck, reasons like traffic accidents or truck breakdowns are no excuse. if the distributer goes past their allotted time to load your truck ryder will continue to give them more and more time with zero repercussions for the distributer. so long as it only inconveniences the driver NO ONE CARES . lastly most of the equipment there is crap and doesnt work half of the time. So long as DOT wont get involved and they can still send the truck out they will despite countless truck writeups for issues on the truck to be fixed submitted by the drivers.

Pros

You get to work on real supply chain problems that actually matter to operations, not just theoretical stuff. Remote flexibility is solid and the work-life balance is fair. The tech stack is modern (Snowflake, Azure, Power BI) and if you're someone who takes initiative, you'll get the chance to own things end-to-end. The people you work with day-to-day are genuinely good and most teams have a collaborative culture.

Cons

Growth from senior level and beyond can be painfully slow even when you're clearly doing the work above your role. Leadership and org changes happen often which resets your visibility and momentum with whoever is advocating for you. Some areas still lack clear ownership so things fall through the cracks or land on whoever is willing to pick them up. Pay doesn't always reflect the scope of what you're actually doing.
