Pros

Ryder works well on a resume for an entry level position. The pay is also not terrible. They provide a very professional work environment and up to date technology.

Cons

I've seen employees work 6am - all day - all night-they were there when I can back the next morning with the same clothes, unshaven-until 9pm the following night... As far as a work-life-personal health balance goes, there isn't one. They're expectations if you are salary, entry level logistics coordinator, working on a challenging account is that you stay anywhere from 50-90hrs in a week (non negotiable) with no lunch. They won't specifically tell you you can't take a lunch (that's illegal) but they will cater a small cheap unhealthy carb filled lunch and bring it to your desk. If you take an actual break you will be shunned for no less than 3 days. They also interrogate you when you get up to go to the restroom. The overtime pay actually decreases the more you accrue. (Roughly $6/hr once you've exceeded 50hrs.) The managers are unorganized. Some managers have no idea how to do what their employees are doing. So when someone calls in they are absolutely useless at taking the extra work load off their employees. And this may seem small but the inside of the building has no windows. It REALLY takes a toll on you not seeing the sun for months at a time. Consider that before taking this job. Oh and the snacks at the convenience area in the breakroom are expired.

Pros

You get to work on real supply chain problems that actually matter to operations, not just theoretical stuff. Remote flexibility is solid and the work-life balance is fair. The tech stack is modern (Snowflake, Azure, Power BI) and if you're someone who takes initiative, you'll get the chance to own things end-to-end. The people you work with day-to-day are genuinely good and most teams have a collaborative culture.

Cons

Growth from senior level and beyond can be painfully slow even when you're clearly doing the work above your role. Leadership and org changes happen often which resets your visibility and momentum with whoever is advocating for you. Some areas still lack clear ownership so things fall through the cracks or land on whoever is willing to pick them up. Pay doesn't always reflect the scope of what you're actually doing.
