Pros

If you’re good with kids and or math then this job is easy. All your co-workers will be nice people, 22-24 years old, nice boss. Very positive work environment. Opportunities exist for extra hours if you’re interested in tutoring incarcerated students (also all nice kids). There are limited opportunities to be promoted to site director after a year, but the opportunity definitely exists.

Cons

Dress code is my biggest complaint! If you’re a guy then be prepared to overdress, you’ll need to wear dockers, a button down, and a tie every day. The actual teachers at your school will probably be wearing a tee and jeans so you’ll stick out. Women basically show up in leggings and a teeshirt most days despite then dress code, totally gender biased dress code. This needs to be addressed. Also, you only get two sick days and two personal days, you won’t be paid for snow days or holidays.

Cons

Not much, as long as you take the opportunities being presented to you and pave your own way.

Great work culture if you are non-tutor staff. Provides evidence based programming.

Cons

- Limited upward mobility - There are constant layoffs and reduction in workforce -Incomplete data systems to the point programs staff have to do a lot of backup administrative tasks -No performance based financial incentives -Extremely glitched virtual platform that causes disruptions to student learning on a weekly basis
