Pros

-> Good work-life balance - quite a relaxed atmosphere; -> Free food.

Cons

-> Processes suck - it is still not clear how the work is distributed, what are the priorities, what should I work on right now when there are 5 different tasks/bug reports coming from 5 different sources. -> I don't understand what the managers are here for. My manager does not know what I am doing. I think he just stays here since late 80s waiting to get retired. -> What do I need to get promoted? This is not transparent and subjective. -> Our product sucks and people don't believe there is going to be tomorrow. When I was about to start my job at SAP, I was reading all these positive reviews and "Great place to work" reports... One thing which catches the eyes from day one are facilities - the headquarters buildings are old, look like an average university inside as opposed to all these new and shiny IT companies. Sometimes I get a feeling SAP is stuck in the 90's. And again facilities - why there is almost no one clearing the office... They vacuum probably once a week or month.

Pros

Good work life balance over time, culture of help, good opportunities to advance and move around, decent pay, ceiling for commissions is high.

Cons

Are increasingly finding ways to dock compensation and make rules around comp confusing and unclear. Internal processes, tools, and policies are incredibly complex. Very difficult to find people to support basic customer issues. Sales becomes a catchall for customer problems, leaves little time to sell. Benefits and pay increases decline year after year.
