Pros

Oil field pays higher than other 9-5 jobs. You are given more consecutive time off than regular jobs. Opportunity to make a lot of money based on work provided. Bonuses are given by how many jobs you can catch, not hourly.

Cons

During your work week, scheduling is inconsistent because you are working "on demand" and must be available 24/7. Pay scale is not consistent, some long difficult jobs do not pay as much as the workers deserve. Jobs are "on demand" meaning you could work 15 days and not catch any jobs (no jobs = no bonus)
