Very hard to fit in. If one person decides they don’t like you your time could be short lived.
New employees have a different set of rules because "they have not paid their dues yet"
New salaried employees have to make up any missed time no matter how small the amount of time. Sometimes you are forced to use vacation time for a 2 hour doctor appointment and are not allowed to make up the time. There is little consistency. Some people wear jeans while others are told they can’t. No training plan in place for new employees. What little training that is provided changes on a daily basis depending on who is doing the training. It is hard to focus and learn when you are under such duress. Technology is dated. Suggesting more efficient methods are met with resistance and many older employees don't want to have to learn anything new and are just waiting for retirement. Manual processes that could be automated. They would rather perform familiar steps than learn something new with fewer steps regardless of the time it would save them. They have been there for over thirty years and cannot easily adapt to a new environment but expect you to learn their outdated methods. HR has been informed at one time or another.
