4yI'm sorry to hear you did not have a good experience with SMS. We do carefully vet all new employees, as well as promotions to ensure each individual is qualified for the position and is the best candidate for the job. At times, this may mean having someone work on some of the position requirements first to make sure they are the best fit. Once an individual is formally promoted, a compensation change may be warranted at that time or would be completed during the annual evaluation cycle. This is standard business practice and is not a means of saving money. We believe in recognizing and rewarding hard work at SMS, which includes promotion from within.
