This is definitely a hands on position and most of your upper level managers are completely disconnected from how the facility actually operates and what needs to be done to run the operation smoothly. You will be able to become creative with your management and leadership skills, honestly, in order to be successful, you will HAVE to be.
Cons
This is a solely relationship driven company and there is a cap on how far they will let you go depending on who likes you and how much you prepare to put up with. Your managers are not there to coach you and help you succeed, they are there to present your ideas, research, hard work, and resolutions to the client, take the credit for any successes and place the blame on you for any failures and that's not an example of a good leadership or a team. They are also a company that cares more about their reputation and an impressive business portfolio than the safety and working environment of the employees that work hard for them, especially the managers and supervisors.
