Pros

Better than a Russian Gulag during good old Joe Stalin's day. As an added bonus the plant is located in a very interesting neighborhood where you can have a front row seat to Friday night gun fights. There are some great hourly and salaried employees there. The company itself has a major problem training, motivating or advancing employees.

Cons

Poor pay, 3rd world benefits, plenty of dangerous chemicals and poorly maintained equipment. if the Three Stooges bought a great company from Bristol Meyers and did their best to destroy it you would have an idea of what the St. Louis / Pagedale location is like. If you are fifty years or older forget about raises or advancements. Get ready for an early "retirement". Chances are you will soon be unemployed. I got out and found an excellent employer. Sadly most of my contemporaries were not as lucky.

Pros

Working at STERIS has been a rewarding experience, especially if you’re someone who isn’t afraid to put in the effort. One of the biggest advantages is that your earning potential is directly tied to the amount of work you put in. If you’re motivated, proactive, and willing to take on responsibility, you can truly earn great money here. The company gives you the opportunity to grow, learn, and take on more whenever you’re ready. It’s a place where hard work is recognized and often rewarded, making it a strong fit for people who enjoy being in control of their own success. If you’re driven and want a job where your hustle actually shows up in your paycheck, STERIS is a solid choice.

Cons

On the downside, the job can be challenging due to frequent product shortages, which makes it difficult to meet customer needs and hit goals especially when there’s little support from corporate to resolve these issues. Another major frustration is that when you take vacation, you're still working, because there’s no real backup to cover your territory. The role also requires a lot of travel, which can be demanding and exhausting over time. Lastly, promotions are few and far between, so career advancement can feel slow despite strong performance. Overall: STERIS can be a great place for someone who wants control over their earnings and doesn’t mind putting in significant effort. However, lack of support, constant travel, and limited growth opportunities may make it challenging for long‑term satisfaction.
