Managers are friends with the government customers and take the side of the customer with regards to baseless claims. Asking for assistance as an entry level employee while struggling with the loss of a family member shouldn't be grounds for terminating an employee. It doesn't matter though, once the government customer and the manager have it out for the employee after agreeing for you to be hired as an entry level support, they find any excuse they can to terminate you. It's unfortunate that they treat people like that. I am sure that this was only a localized experience, and other people were kind and easy to speak with/understanding, but not my manager(s) at the time. They intruded on my personal health matters (The government customer and my management) out of legal bounds and collected all of the notes that I had taken to document my case because I worked in a classified setting, even though it was for unclassified/personal work notes. I am fortunate, however, for this experience as it taught me how to not treat people as a leader, and how to lead with kindness, and understanding, the complete opposite to how I was treated. The government customer said on a salary, "I own you."
