Pros

- Health benefits and insurance (when you work 30 hours a week) - The option to cross-train in different departments - Wonderful floral department - The Starbucks kiosk was a great place to work - Recognized for my customer service skills - Generally nice customers - Generally nice co-workers

Cons

I've only been here for 4 months and I've had problems with this company since the day I started. I began as a courtesy clerk at 10 hours a week - if that. I must have called the store about 4 times a week for a full month, asking for hours. Since then, I've worked as a cashier, in the floral department, in the Starbucks kiosk, and was transferred to the "Safeway.com" department in mid-August at 40 hours. Working in ".com" is stressful, there is favoritism of lazy workers, and my hours were cut again, this time below 30. I was told that this was due to "seniority" in the department. I can't stay on the health insurance with less than 30 hours. I am entirely fed up with the cuts on my hours. I can't live on what this job is giving me. I really tried to stick with it, but to deal with issue after issue is not worth the headache.

Pros

Friendly and helpful colleagues, weekly pay and flexible schedule

Cons

When it is busy, it is very busy. Lunch/Break may get pushed back or even denied in extreme cases because there is no one to cover for you.
