Pros
safeway has one of the best compensation package. the pay rate is good and the benefit is great, union benefit . you get a fixed start time with safeway , if you start at 2pm , you will always clock in at 2pm , you will put in 12 to 14 hours depending upon the runs.
Cons
safeway is mostly for people who are single or your kids are grown up. you will NOT get weekends off ..... until you have worked there for at least 9 to 10 years. its not easy to take time off here , if request for a sunday off - denied. call in sick you get points , 1 day equals 8 points , get 22 points get written up , 30 points , bye bye . safeway has put in a system where they turned truck drivers into puppets or robots. it used to be good working for them , but since 2009 or so it has gone south. now its like walking a tight rope , drivers are dime a dozen.
