Pros

People need to eat, so work is fairly steady, if you are working in areas or shifts your co-workers don't want or can't handle.

Cons

Must work holidays, split days off. Safeway also thinks a worker that punches in early will work through lunch and will work over time should be reprimanded not rewarded. With this in mind each store has only a few key employees that must make up for those not willing or unable to carry there share of the workload. I have a co-worker that has to work 7 days a week just because management won't take 10min 2 days a week to fill out reports. The company is also starting to spend more time on writing reports about how to get things done than just fixing the problems. Workers are expected to use broken equipment to complete job tasks this includes order writing handhelds, pallet jacks, loading dock lifts, printers, refrigeration, and even pens are not supplied.

Pros

Friendly and helpful colleagues, weekly pay and flexible schedule

Cons

When it is busy, it is very busy. Lunch/Break may get pushed back or even denied in extreme cases because there is no one to cover for you.
