Pros

-Union benefits or so I hear. -Plus they fight just so damn hard for the workers to get a 25-cent raise every 1 to 100 years. -I get paid and it's hard to get fired.

Cons

-It's hard to get fired for other people too. I have some of the worst people working in my department. They don't do their job and yet they still have more hours than I do. -I'm promised more hours than 30 so next week I get 32 and the week after I get 25. So when I ask for more hours I end up getting 3 less hours. -I get yelled at for going over my hours on busy days and then get yelled at because I'm not doing work that's not in my job description and doesn't fit in my allotted hours. This happens back and forth every day.

Pros

Nothing at all, only work at Safeway if you're about to be literally homeless

Cons

Genuinely hellish work environment. Management is lazy and absent, customers are the most disrespectful and clueless I have ever encountered. Complete unrealistic labor allocation and expectations. As a PIC, I have to run 9 SCO robots, unlock cases for customers, perform transactions at Customer Service, answer external phone calls, and move freight. Customers rightly get frustrated at the complete lack of care by corporate, and take it out on employees. Management in the morning all skip out on the evening management early every single day, a luxury the closing staff are not allowed.
