Pros

If you enjoy a job that keeps you active and on your feet at all times, working as a courtesy clerk here will ensure you stay busy. Plenty of space to chat while working, especially with very mundane and redundant work duties that may require a second worker. Doesn't take a lot of focus and definitely is good for someone with ADHD or someone who can appreciate organization.

Cons

Supervisors can often feel urged to have an ego, treating you as less – viewed as a pawn to do what they ask, doesn't care about your opinion on store operation, would rather think they're perfect than take criticism, will talk one-on-one to you with a pseudo-sympathetic demeanor if you're struggling to keep you around. If you're in the small percentile of people that try really hard to improve, you're ten times more likely to get taken advantage of and seen more and more as a working entity. Also, if you're looking for better pay over time, do NOT be a courtesy clerk, your pay will be consistent regardless of how long you work.
