Interesting, incentive program is nice, but low pay, and hard to get days off. - Sales Associate Sally Beauty Employee Review

Pros

-nice discount (20% or more) -can shop at CosmoProf & get discount there too -selling gets you points that you can use to "buy" stuff -nice job for college students -sales goals are nice and not that difficult to meet

Cons

-shoplifting is a big problem in my area (esp. on hair) sometimes management expects you to be a security guard when there's only so much you can do to stop a thief. -scheduling is not great. although its not a big store there should still always be ATLEAST 2 associates working on the floor. Being scheduled with just one other person, one is left alone during lunches and breaks, which can be difficult since we're supposed to be monitoring the floor and doing check-outs. can be challenging if more than one customer needs assistance or has a question. -ancient equipment!! no debit pad, dial-up internet, no scanners, nada. i think the company can afford to give us better equipment. still have the same systems as 15 years ago. -refunds/exchanges/voids affect sales person directly.

Pros

My store manager and team were wonderful! If you make the right moves you can move up the ladder reasonably quickly,

Cons

You can move up the ladder quickly because turnover is so high. Management will lie to you and tell you whatever you want to hear to keep you from leaving. Your experience is entirely dependent on who your store manager is and if they are willing to advocate for you. District management does not care about employees.
