Pros

Employee discount and iom reward points to buy kind of neat things online.

Cons

Starting with the horrendous customers, I guess thats not something Sally's can control. But MAN, whoever is in charge of customer service is a huge pushover. Were not allowed to return hair, but as soon as you talk to a customer service agent they give the customer whatever the hell they want and make us associates look like idiots. Anyway, the upper management. They are the worst. Sallys won't hire from within the company, which is just plain idiotic. They hire randoms from different companies that have no idea what hairspray is, and they usually end up quitting anyway so in the 1 year and 4 months I've been with this company, I've had THREE different District Managers. All the management is horribly unorganized. You get absolutely no rewards being an associate. You could have the highest numbers for a month, but if you didn't sell enough IOMS or EPP, you get lectured. No praise. The company only sees you as a number. If you're an associate, you will close every single night, and don't expect to be trained properly on how to open by your manager. Feeling sick and need to go home? Too bad. You're closing and no other associate from a different store will help a sister out. Your manager is only required to close once a week, and work one Sunday a month. If you do get the chance to open, your manager will schedule you to open on a Sunday where you work until close anyway. If you're a manager, you get to go on a special trip with other managers to Mexico. How do you get that you ask? By making the employees do ALL THE WORK SO YOUR NUMBERS LOOK GOOD. You as a manager don't have to do anything to earn this reward. Managers hold the whip and the associates do all the labor. Oh, and you can't go over 40 hours no matter what. I worked almost 39 hours every week and I didn't qualify for any of the insurance. And my manager wouldn't make the schedule until every Saturday night, so we never had any idea what our schedules were going to look like until the last minute. We got 2 days off a week which is perfect, but literally every single week someone from my store or another would call out or just decide to not show up and I was ALWAYS the only one who would come in on my much needed days off to cover. I got a measly 5 cent raise after enduring that hell hole for a year. If you always see the "Now Hiring" sign at your local Sallys, now you know why.

Pros

+ I like the people I work with + I get to look at new products early

Cons

+ Most customers are dumb as rocks and you gotta explain everything in detail like they're 4 1/2 trying to bleach or color their hair... (Some people even try to do that literally and I have to tell them they cant, and guess who doesnt listen...) + Upper management doesnt care about you + You have to upsell a credit card with a huge APR % rate (35-36℅ as of rn) thats not even worth it (which in other stores they might fire you because you dont upsell it enough) + I sometimes have to buy stuff for the store that corporate wont buy for us cause our monthly budget for toliet/cleaning supplies is only 30 dollars and we can only get it from the amazon business page they give us and its either we have toilet paper or paper towels once a month , never both, just either or... + Year appraisals are rigged so you can never EVER get a 4/5 or higher because in their words "nobodys perfect" and also they dont wanna pay us more than 25¢ per raise.
