Pros

Salaries, health benefits, decent campus.

Cons

- No gym. - Korean R&D managers and project leaders in Suwon are untrusting of their US colleagues, regardless of the US employees' credentials or track record. They have no idea about what it means to conduct research. The CEO is specially bad at micro managing, and has no experience in managing an international workforce, has poor communication skills, and lacks vision.

Thank you for the review. I am sorry to hear about the cultural barrier, which is in part due to our need to work closely with our other global R&D operations, including HQ in South Korea. At SRA we do not discriminate therefore it would greatly help if you could contact me at erica.ho@partner.samsung.com about the unfair treatment you have experienced.

Pros

Samsung is a place where you grow quickly — sometimes because you want to, sometimes because you have to. The pace is intense, but the learning curve is unmatched. The people are smart, driven, and genuinely care about building great products. The cross‑cultural environment can be challenging at times, but it also makes you a stronger communicator and operator. If you’re adaptable, curious, and energized by global teamwork, you’ll thrive here.

Cons

Priorities can shift overnight, and you need to be comfortable with constant change. Meetings with Korea can stretch your day. Some teams still operate with a top‑down culture, which may feel rigid if you’re used to Silicon Valley‑style autonomy.
