Pros

Good Retirement and Health Benefits. Reasonable levels of cleanliness and safety.

Cons

Management is geared toward hiring and promotion, over other employees, based on family relations to mid/upper management and engineers. This was not always the case but occurred more frequently then it should have. The move to dayshift was rare with my time on night shift. A couple of years back there was a hire for production jobs. These people were suppose to go to night shift so people currently on nights could come to dayshift. Time passed with management saying that this would happen. After a couple of years management said that they were on day shift for too long and it wouldn't be fair to move them to nights. So there were people who had been on nights for 4+ years and people on dayshift who never set foot on night shift. Tried to speak with mid and upper management about these issues, and how they applied to a day shift position I was interested in. Was pulled into a meeting where I was scolded for my "bad behavior" and was told I would not move up in the company. Was also told that they could move people as they see fit and did not have to take seniority into account. Which is true, but this creates a culture that lacks energy and motivation.

Pros

Good insurance. 5% 401k match. 7% of your gross goes in your 401k via profit share. Good amount of PTO. A lot of the people. Climate controlled. Clean environment.

Cons

Hourly pay too low to deal with their BS. Too much OT after promising none. Haven’t seen the plant manager in literally years. Production floor manager is full of it and plays favorites to the extreme. Unless you’re part of the clique, you’ll get nowhere. Instead of raises, we got board games for the break room. The restaurant in the building is gross and a joke. They preach that they’re “like a family”, but only because they want you working there for cheap. Should’ve never taken 12’s away just to mandate 10-20 hours of OT per week. No real recognition or appreciation ever.
