Pros

Good fringe benefits of 401k match, maternity & paternity leave, pretty scenic view around campus; no business stop in the pandemic year. A place for a beginner to build experience, as well as the office people who plan to retire. This is a manufacturing focused place making legacy commodity flu vaccines, a lot of chicken eggs are consumed and looks interesting. Some government investment to sustain the business.

Cons

Location is very rural, the salary is below the industry average. Outdated technology for the most of vaccine products, not a high-tech or R&D site, very thin profitability but surprisingly still positive. Hard to make career advancement for the talented, and high turnover rate of the top good professionals. Many mediocre middle level managers are around just to secure the pay until retirement, or wait for a slim chance of going up. Very high turnover rate in the production based factories, and a little overwhelmed politics in the non-production and office departments.

Pros

You Learn a lot about GMP/Pharmaceutical Industry since its heavily regulated by the FDA. The pay is good for the position.

Cons

There are limited opportunities for career advancement, particularly for contractors. Training is generally restricted to the specific process equipment required for assigned tasks, with little opportunity for broader skill development. Additionally, the workplace culture can be challenging. Some long-tenured employees appear to feel entitled to treat others disrespectfully, creating a toxic work environment. Their seniority often seems to shield them from accountability, as concerns raised with management frequently go unaddressed. There also appears to be a lack of diversity and inclusion, which contributes to workplace microaggressions, disrespectful behavior, and an environment where not all employees feel equally valued or respected. There is limited opportunity for contractors being hired on a full time basis, they have to leave the company for six months before they can be hired back! No company benefits for contractors!
