Pros

- A steady job. Banks aren't going anywhere any time soon, especially a huge one like Santander - It looks okay on a resume. It shows you're trustworthy and can handle some real responsibilities. - There is an incentive plan (lacking but still there) - Good benefits.

Cons

- Sales role at the forefront. Don't expect to be able to stay at this job and feel great about selling credit cards to whoever you can. - Arbitrary rules that don't make sense. There are too many to list, but you will ruin many of these. - No room for real growth in the company. Many people are in the same position after 5-10 years. You will rarely make it out of the branch if you aren't willing to dedicate your life to this company. - Terrible hours. 8:30 is when your day starts. And it often ends after 5:30 or 6 pm. There is also weekend work since they're open on Saturdays. Getting time off can be a nightmare because they don't like to allow multiple people to be on leave at once, even during holiday seasons. - Way, way, way too many mandatory training videos that you're just going to forget in 5 minutes. - You have to deal with annoying customers just as much as the good ones, it not more. - Half the time you're playing tech support and you forget that you have a fancy job title as a "Banker". - Upper management in the company has an obvious disconnect with in-field employees.
