Pros

- Large recognized company with decent benefits and good pay - Looks good on resume - Plenty of good clubs/activities - Free training and lunches often

Cons

- Outdated mentality. System designed to favor time spent at the desk over quality of work - Extreme favoritism. One colleague may be swamped with work and plant visits while the other must look for work. - Low efficiency of workers due to poor communication and management. New workers are left to fend for themselves to find work and manage loads of unrelated training materials. Expectations need to be made more clear. - Hire too many and lay off as work goes down. - Company uses spy tactics to report performance - Project time expense reporting is flawed. Allow workers to charge to Sargent and Lundy instead of the client when work gets low. - Company is not flexible when it comes to vacations/PTO. - Nature of the work is mind-numbing - Central office location can cause long commute times - Unhelpful human resources department

Pros

Decent pay and interesting projects that allow for good professional development.

Cons

Absolutely horrendous work-life balance. I have been at the company for almost 20 years and their lack of support and flexibility for parents is incredibly disappointing. Going to the office requirements are unrealistic with little kids, and some of the newly minted managers are on a power trip, micromanaging high performers and quoting pto policies if you need to run 30min errands midday.
