Pros
Wanting to be a part of something that helps children worldwide is a good thing and there are some people who work here that truly do have that calling. Unfortunately, I did not get a sense that all donor dollars where used to benefit children.
Cons
Constant layoffs and reorganizations; everyone feels stressed out about what might happen next; constant problems with computer systems that never seem to get fixed; unrealistic business objectives and goals that are constantly changing; poor upper management leadership/decisions; too many high paid managers who would be considered totally incompetent in the for-profit world yet are kept on the payroll for years; endless hours of unproductive meetings; very political environment - its who you know rather than your job performance; a few do most of the work at very little pay; some can job hop/work from home while others cannot; they make a big deal out of their performance review process but don't back it up with any training or advancement options-its really meaningless paperwork.
