Pros

There are so many to mention like the culture, benefits, work/life balance, diversity programs, career growth, etc., but the #1 pro for me is always the PEOPLE. For over 15 years, I have worked alongside some of the sharpest, brightest, most diligent, and most caring professionals in the compliance audit industry. We find people that deeply care about our quality and the individuals working together to achieve that level of quality. We challenge individuals to grow and learn to become renowned experts then provide them with the training opportunities to do so, and many step up to meet and exceed those expectations. Like every organization, we have a positional hierarchy structure, but I have never felt like anyone works "for" anyone here at Schellman. Everyone works "with" everyone to succeed together.

Cons

No place is perfect, and we endure our share of growing pains. Most of which are related to keeping up with demand for our services, especially when our employees are coveted by our clients. The con with having so many amazing people in the firm is that clients recognize those talent levels and want to bring our team members in-house to their own organizations.

Pros

Management frequently improves benefits. Management really knows the business well. The company has historically been well insulated from economic downturns. So many opportunities to stand out and make a name for yourself

Cons

Data driven decisions still a work in progress. Long term vision is likely 1 ish year.

Pros

The people. Peers are great to work with and very supportive. Some of the leaders in the teams are as well. Perks were GREAT but have slowly been taken away or the costs went up.

Cons

Where do I begin? Wholesale executive turnover. Technology projects that we're supposed to say are awesome but aren't really that great. They take up more time to figure out than they're worth and we know those are meant to take our jobs. AI, offshore, temp labor. No thanks. It was a place I loved working at but has slowly just become a job that makes me feel like I should be watching for somewhere else to go. Just in case. The culture has changed quite a bit too. It used to feel like a place where we all wanted to work together but that's slowly fading.
