Pros

I couldn't be happier at Schellman. Work barely feels like a "job" with the people, leadership team and my role here. I would highly recommend Schellman to anyone in the industry. The benefits package is unmatched, with 6 weeks of total time off (3 weeks of PTO and 3 weeks of company shut down), summer Fridays, completely covered employee healthcare and 10% 401k match. What further sets Schellman apart is the management group. Our leadership team is not only a group of very intelligent and hard working individuals but they are also approachable and unassuming. They are receptive to feedback and gracefully take constructive criticism. While we've had some growing pains, they recognize when problems arise and are transparent about missteps and shortcomings. Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of the Schellman team. The benefits are unbeatable, and the supportive and trustworthy leadership team is what will keep me here for the long haul.

Cons

Our technology is outdated and while Schellman is actively working on updating and improving its systems, the current processes are quite manual and inefficient.

Pros

Management frequently improves benefits. Management really knows the business well. The company has historically been well insulated from economic downturns. So many opportunities to stand out and make a name for yourself

Cons

Data driven decisions still a work in progress. Long term vision is likely 1 ish year.

Pros

The people. Peers are great to work with and very supportive. Some of the leaders in the teams are as well. Perks were GREAT but have slowly been taken away or the costs went up.

Cons

Where do I begin? Wholesale executive turnover. Technology projects that we're supposed to say are awesome but aren't really that great. They take up more time to figure out than they're worth and we know those are meant to take our jobs. AI, offshore, temp labor. No thanks. It was a place I loved working at but has slowly just become a job that makes me feel like I should be watching for somewhere else to go. Just in case. The culture has changed quite a bit too. It used to feel like a place where we all wanted to work together but that's slowly fading.
