Pros

WMS Gaming Chicago Pros: Cafe to eat breakfast and lunch Office culture Interesting and complex projects Great location Job security and stability

Cons

Uses traditional method for rating employees with a system restricted on how many people can 'exceed' expectations, meaning even those who might work really hard may only end with a 'meets expectations' simply because you cannot give out too many 'exceeds' ratings. Budget constraints on nice things for incentives to employees shrinks year by year.

Pros

Great work/life balance, reliable teamwork and support from management, opportunities for growth and exposure to new skills.

Cons

Coaching/overseeing a team in itself has a set of cons, which is what I primarily handle on a daily basis. This comes with any job, but you will have people on your team who need to improve on things such as lack of communication, lack of effort, no work ethic, and lack of skills. Motivating them can be difficult at times, and then you always seem to have a few who do things to avoid work. An accumulation of all these factors subsequently creates more, unnecessary, and redundant work for us. These types of people tend to eliminate themselves out over time due to poor performance and/or quit.
