Pros

Work experience to add to your resume.

Cons

They’ll bait and switch you promising a chance at a work from home job, then say you need to work in a clinic. Once they make you a job offer, they will expect a 10 month minimum commitment from you but will not uphold their end of the agreement. I was offered a full time position working three days with a minimum of 36 hours per week and opportunities for overtime. Simple math indicates that’d be 3 days of 12 hour shifts. After training, I was scheduled for an average of 28 hours a week which sometimes drops to 24. I get 3 days of 8 hour shifts with a 4 hour shift weekly, and sometimes one of my 8 hour shifts gets cut in half if the doctor has an afternoon meeting. I asked two supervisors about the discrepancy. One outright ignored me, the other thanked me for letting her know and informed me that she’d let me know if another shift opened up. Since they breached the agreement we made when I accepted the job offer, I am currently looking for a different job. They demand highly skilled labor, pay less than Walmart, and don’t care if you get enough hours to make a living. I would not have passed up other opportunities had they been truthful about scheduling. I was lied to and manipulated by this company.

Pros

Looks good on a resume.

Cons

Low pay and poor training. I did like three days of shadowing only, was only exposed to Cerner twice with very little time to explore. My trainer said my HPI’s were good… but then I got an email from the Chief Scribe saying I am missing too much, so I was pretty confused there. I’m with a different doctor every time, right out of the gate. Also, I only applied for one location, and was then assigned to four.
