Pros

- Very good work-life balance - Not too much pressure - There are almost never incidents outside of working hours - 100% remote work is an option - Possibility to work as a contractor - Pay can be very good, depending on the specific country, if living outside Germany - One time budget for home office setup - Freedom to choose technologies on a department level

Cons

- Huge turnover of people, like a revolving door - A lot of long, useless meetings - Zero emphasis on the quality of the product - There is no QA team nor any QA phase - everything is tested manually by developers, even after 15 years - As a result of bad quality, a lot of time and effort is wasted on recurring support tickets and bug fixing - A lot of legacy architecture - software system spans 3 different cloud/hosting providers and there are a lot of unfinished migrations from technology A to technology B - A lot of legacy code problems with no incentive to resolve them, but people are rather co-existing with them and leaving an obstacle to stumble on for generations to come - CTO has a lot of years of experience, but has zero empathy and instead of leading, he is just whip-cracking - Salary is below average for Berlin market and for higher income countries

Pros

I've been very fortunate to join a company with so many smart and outgoing individuals. I have experience working with multiple enterprise SEO platforms and this is by far the best one on the market today. I say this not because I work here but because I've seen the others. I believe the main difference is due to the fact that the platform is being driven by someone who knows and is passionate about SEO, Marcus Tober. The other vendors I've worked with, their product managers had very little knowledge in SEO which I didn't think mattered but it certainly does. This is a global company and the reach is far beyond just the US. I've had exposure working with top European Digital Marketing agencies along with other enterprise clients in Asia, Jordan, Spain, France and much much more. Its a unique benefit to being exposed to so many different cultures and ideas of how search and user experience come together.

Cons

Its hard to find fault in such a dynamic global company but being based in the US, you do end up taking some calls early in the morning. I'm an early riser and a morning person but this may not suit everyone but its interesting to deal with the other time zones in the world.
