Pros
Pay is just fine. $18-19 per hour with bonuses for weekends and holidays. Large variety on shift types. Mobile patrol, fixed patrol, hospitals, mall security, etc. Lots of possibility for extra shifts off the books.
Cons
They don't really care about the employees, there are 50 other like you waiting to pick up your shift if you are fired/quit. Phone keeps beeping with messages about them needing people for a shift with 0 notice in advance. They will give you an employment contract for a 0% position and then proceed to give and take shifts from you depending on how much they like you. They will give you a new contract like this every 1-4 months. You never know if you have a job in 1-6 months because of the short contracts. They will get upset if you ask for overtime. If you're a shift supervisor/area supervisor they will only give you $100 fixed extra per month. No compensation for extra stress etc. Employees make nothing while upper-management rakes in dough. Norwegian Securitas CEO makes literally 10x the salary of an avarage security guard, yet they refuse to increase salaries so we're not at the bottom of the wage list every year. You never hear anything from management unless something is wrong.
