Pros

- Unlimited PTO with a 3-week minimum. In my experience, this was genuinely supported and a real benefit. - Many coworkers and leaders are truly great people who made the day-to-day more enjoyable. - Strong learning opportunities and meaningful professional growth. After working at Seer for several years, my experience was a true mixed bag. There are pockets of phenomenal leaders and coworkers but there are also consistent performance gaps, where some people don’t deliver and high-performers end up absorbing the extra work.

Cons

A lack of basic process to the point of being detrimental. Tools feel duct-taped together and core operations still rely heavily on spreadsheets. Innovation doesn’t require chaos, and when associate/manager-level employees are working 50+ hours/week without clear direction or prioritization, it fails. Leadership seems well-intentioned, and I genuinely believe many are good people. However, the CEO has openly expressed pride in not paying at/above industry standards in order to donate more to the community. It’s his company, but that approach makes it difficult to attract and retain the high-performers required for the level of expectation being set. Perceived favoritism and visibility politics. The same 2-3 people are repeatedly highlighted in company-wide meetings with messaging like “get on my radar.” These are often internal, non-billable roles that work closely with the CEO. Volunteer and innovation time is tracked and broadcasted monthly, without acknowledging that billable employees often can’t log the same amounts because client work has to come first. The internal AI Slack channel has unintentionally created fear instead of clarity: expectations to post daily/weekly, pressure to share half-baked ideas, tracking of reactions/comments. Instead of helping develop a real vision, it makes employees anxious and performative. Seer’s culture has changed significantly over the last few years. It used to feel like a close-knit “work pals” environment (happy hours, stronger relationships, higher day-to-day connection). As the company became more distributed/remote, those relationships and the sense of shared commitment naturally shifted, which is fine, but leadership still seems to expect the same level of emotional investment from employees that executives have. That mismatch creates friction.

Pros

Seer is made for a very specific type of person: Smart, caring, organized, and collaborative. If you fit here, you REALLY fit. I will admit, the negative reviews had me a bit apprehensive, but I cannot emphasize this enough: You don’t know you’ll like or dislike something unless you give it a chance. And, you should give Seer a chance. You might just learn something incredible. Because of this, I’m over the moon I chose Seer. - exceptional benefits / pay / bonus structure connected to incentivized engagement - brilliant people who care and want to help - unlimited PTO that you’re encouraged to use - Office politics and all that other stuff is not tolerated; the company has some of the best culture I’ve been a part of in a long time - the work can be difficult, but only for short bursts, most of the time it is (75% of the month) straightforward work and innovation. One week will be hectic and then it’s smooth sailing. A very good balance. I used to be overworked every single day. Not here. Managers are here to support you. First company I’ve been at in over a decade where this is the case.

Cons

None at this time! I would say the first 90 days is a learning curve, then it gets exponentially easier. And, everyone answers your questions in the blink of an eye.

Pros

People are smart, hard working, and kind. It’s not about climbing the corporate ladder, but genuinely helping others. Leadership truly believes in their mission and intend to do actual good in the world.

Cons

Management gradually focused more on making money over building up the team. Constant innovation and a grueling workload burned out the long time, senior folks who could get more money and less stress elsewhere.
