Business Outlook
Pros
Feels like family. Small rural hospital.
Cons
Not very many learning opportunities. Routinely inadequately staffed. Very many call outs due to nurses and NCPs being burned out from high acuity patient loads. You can count on spending at least 3-4 hours charting (hate the charting system), never having a break, and leaving well after your shift has concluded. Like any place, there are a few nurses that have worked there for years that are very sour. Often have a hard time being able to read up on patients because you don’t have time which is scary. Doctors are difficult to get in contact with even for urgent situations.
