Coming from the land of retail management I really didnt know what to expect. I was nervous about starting a new job, in a new industry that I really didnt know much about. After my first conversation with Nora I realized I have no reason to be nervous. She was informative, kind, and all around easy to talk too. The interview felt like a conversation not an interrogation. I had been interviewing around and after that first phone interview I knew sequoia was my number one choice. I then interviewed at Niguel Summit with Olga and Liz and again it was so comfortable. They didn't try to intimidate me as so many interviewers try to do, they were kind and friendly. I left that office thinking I HAVE TO WORK HERE!!! Spoiler alert ....I GOT THE JOB!!! I was so excited to start and after my first day I realized this isn't a job, it's a career. I have been here a few months now. I have never worked for a company that truly takes such an interest in their employees development. My CM and ACM (Olga and devon) are truly incredible. The maintenance guys have taught me a thing or two (now I know what can and can not go down a garbage disposal) when I need help or just advice my fellow LC's at other properties are always around and always eager to help. Then there is SU which is AMAZING btw. I have yet to meet someone whom has made me feel less than or embarrassed for asking questions. Everyone from my property's staff and residents, to sister properties, to HR , to Bill Brooks himself has been encouraging and kind. I am excited for more training as well as fun day and our community service day! I love that there's always something to learn and that it's never a dull moment. I am so greatful that sequoia took a chance on me !! I promise to do my best to make everyone proud!!!!
