Key people like the chairman and general counsel are smart, responsive, and generally oriented toward success for individual departments and therefore for the firm as a whole. Firm administration was more receptive to remote work than competing firms pre-Covid.
Cons
Salaries are competitive but still not the highest in the market. This has resulted in continual turnover among hourly and professional staff in competitive admin areas. Chicago administration tends to drag their feet on making key practical decisions that affect staff. Key example: downtown Chicago was virtually a ghost town by Thursday of the week that the world started going into lockdown for COVID, but Seyfarth didn’t decide to go fully remote until that Friday afternoon.
