Pros
- Advancement is easy if you play your cards right. - Great place to start a career or grow an existing skill set. - Free drinks and affordable food in stocked fridge. - Employees are encouraged to maintain a company culture and lower level employees are amiable. - Staff is willing to offer one another aid when solving difficult problems. - Company goes to bat for employees in order to maintain work/life balance.
Cons
- Pay is far below industry standard. - Green HR department that has no idea how to handle anything HR related. - Company operates on somewhat dated methodologies. - Shasta QA likes to put Shasta QA ahead of clients to obscene extents. - Resourcing changes sporadically. - Company often focuses on the negative and is quick to propose pay cuts rather than make necessary changes. - Newer management appears to be afraid of challenging the direction of the company and poor decisions go unchallenged from within. - Management is quick to deflect blame amongst one another rather than accept their mistakes. - Quick to remove promised perks such as the employer matched 401k and company lunches. - Company generates rankings such as top 10 lists without providing measurable criteria. - Company paints recently departed employees in a negative light, regardless of their individual reasoning or their tenure with the company. Sometimes people move on, we don't need to have an office wide meeting to analyze who they were and why they didn't fit in. - Company has an obvious bias towards certain offices. - Company encourages open discussion about all topics but is quick to punish those that speak up. - Management isn't aware of existing skill-sets within the company. - Internal projects and meetings are often unorganized and lead to wasted time that could be focused on offering clients the best service possible. Jabbering about local events is not a company meeting. Three different offices are not required to attend a discussion that effects only one location. - Dated technology is sometimes embarrassing for a software QA company.
