Pros
Sometimes flexibility is allowed for those with children, depending on your director. New graduates or those wanting a foot in the door of social services and non profit are welcome. Good work in the community.
Cons
Dysfunctional and constant change in leadership. Little opportunity for advancement. Employees frequently subjected to unsafe and unhygienic working conditions. Rapid growth of organization is crippling due to lack of infrastructure. Frequent overhiring in some areas lead to knee-jerk downsizing - meanwhile other areas are consistently understaffed, underfunded, and overlooked by board and leadership.
